Carolyn Lynn Sasser

Carolyn Lynn Sasser was born on March 11, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away on July 30 after a brief and courageous fight with cancer.  Lynn grew up in North Carolina and Florida and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1968.  Shortly after, she became a flight attendant for National Airlines (“Fly me, I’m Lynn”) and later, Pan Am World Airways during the time when “flying was a hoot “. During that time she married her husband Jim and moved to Titusville. After travelling the world with Pan Am and Jim, she went back to school at UCF and graduated with a Master of Arts degree.  She became a licensed speech-language pathologist working mostly with stroke victims as a speech therapist throughout Brevard County.  Lynn was known for her love of her friends, family, dogs, and classical music.  She always had the wonderful ability to brighten a room with her presence and her quirky laugh. Lynn will be remembered for her good nature, fun spirit, dedication to her friends and buying way too much Christmas stuff.

She is predeceased by her husband, Dr. James A. Sasser, Jr., of Titusville and parents Martha Louise Birch Larsen and Maj. Robert John Larsen, USMC (Ret.) of Pensacola, step-daughter Joy and her labs, Beau and Annabelle.

She is survived by her step-children, Jim (Lisa) Sasser of Cazenovia, NY and Kim Sasser of Katy Texas, three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Anna and Kaelyn, seven siblings, Catherine (Daniel) Merritt, Barbara (Jack) Mayberry, Thomas Larsen, Robert (Kimberly) Larsen, Theresa (Michael) Curran, James (Gloria) Larsen and R. Michael Larsen as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 3:00 pm at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Titusville. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Francis in Titusville.
