Anita Marie Brown, 84, died September 9, 2017, at Holmes Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on February 2, 1933, she moved with her husband, Charles “Charlie” Brown, to Titusville, Florida, in 1958, where they built their life together.
Anita was a former member of Saint Teresa Catholic Church and a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims, Florida, where she was an active member of the Women’s Club. In the late 1990s, she retired as a teacher’s assistant from Brevard County Schools and began traveling the world.
Her love of travel brought her on many cruises and took her to visit family members across the country. She was a bright, loving soul who will be dearly missed by her family and the numerous friends she acquired over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and two sisters. She is survived by her eight children, Nanette Zornes, Elaine Harvey, Kevin Brown, Kimberly O’Reilly-Cherwin, Margaret (Peggy) Kay, Keith Rouleau, Kent Brown, Stephanie Brown; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 4-7pm Sunday September 17, 2017 at North Brevard Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am Monday September 18, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that bright colors be worn.
