Miss Liz mentored me during my confirmation at St. Andrews UMC. Over the course of several months and years, we build a wonderful relationship that I will treasure forever. She was one of the wisest, kindest, most loving people I have ever met and her belly laugh was contagious. She was a blessing to all who knew her. I only wish my daughter could have met her. She is deeply missed by many.

I am devastated! My heart hurts because I am just learning of my friend's passing. We shared a lot of history. I had been calling to check on her during Harvey, and this is the discovery. ..September is her birthday month . If I had just known! Written communication is always extended on my anniversary, birtjdays, and Christmas. I can just envision the glorious time that she and Cheryl (Siegie) are having. Rest-in-Peace!

I love you Auntie and will miss you. You slipped away from us but to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Love you always take your rest from your labor.

Liz was a special Christian Lady who thought of others all the time. At church before she would go sit down she would greet so many people and see how they were.. She would stop where I was sitting, give me a hug and ask how her buddie was. She know my husband was very sick with COPD. She would always talk about her family so we knew they were wonderful and she loved them.
We all were so blessed to have know her.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Liz in 1986 at the McDonnell Douglas DCASPRO office. I got to know her and Cheryl her daughter and was heartbroken when years later I heard of Cheryl's passing as I knew how close she was to her daughter. Liz told me funny stories about growing up with her family in South Carolina. She was a strong proud African American woman who was proud of her heritage and all she was able to accomplish working for the government. She worked in a field where there were very few women starting out, let alone African American women. She started at the bottom of the pay scale and worked her way to retire as a GS-12. I am proud to have known her as a friend and former co-worker and will miss her smiling cheerful face and the hugs I got from her when we would see each other. Liz I know you are with God and I can only imagine the joyous reunion you had with Cheryl in heaven. You were an inspiration to us all.

Ben and I will truly miss Liz. She was a dear, sweet friend and child of God. We know
she's happy and singing but we will all grieve and miss her presence.

Liz, we have been together many years and worked on many committees together. I cherished you as a family member and so did my children. We have been together during many hardships. I will truly miss you. I know you are happy now that you are with your Beautiful daughter, Cheryl. Will see you again so we never say Good-bye.

All of us at St. Andrew UMC are a little bit lost this week as we reflect on how much we love you and how much we will miss Liz. The light of Christ within Liz McFadden beamed brightly in our church family and in our community too. She was a treasure indeed and our hearts are broken in grief. But we also rejoice that Liz McFadden is a beloved child of God and she now resides with God for all eternity.

We pray for Liz's family and loved ones who will miss her most.

Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us
Lizzie Ann will live on in the kindness she shared and love she brought into our lives. I will cherish the talks we had of family history. Lizzie Ann, your wings were ready but our hearts was not..
