Gordon Mion died unexpectedly on February 16, 2017 at the age of 58.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Mion, parents Alfred and Marie Mion, sisters Maureen Mion and Regina (Dean) Clifton all of Titusville, FL, brother John Mion, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, mother-in-law Arta Tarby, Elmira Heights, NY, Sharon’s siblings Edith (Larry) Banks, Lima, NY, Steven Tarby, Indianapolis, IN, Eileen Bednar (John), Elmira, NY and Janet McMasters, Elmira Heights, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by Steven N. Tarby, Elmira Heights, NY, Jo Ann York, Elmira, NY, and Shirley, Doug, and Darryl Clifton of Indianapolis, IN.

He was born on April 1, 1958 in Freeport NY and graduated from University of Central Florida with a BS in Engineering Technology. He worked 33 years as an Electrical Engineer with McDonnell Douglas Missile Systems, Boeing KSC Payloads Processing and United Launch Alliance in Cape Canaveral. He received numerous awards including Space Flight Awareness Honoree. Gordon also served in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of TSGT.

Gordon was a dedicated fan of college football, especially the FL Gators and UCF Knights. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and had a strong interest in American and military history.

Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am on February 27 at Indian River City United Methodist Church located at 1355 Cheney Highway in Titusville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his name to the S .P.C.A.
