Charles Murphy

Charles William Murphy, 83, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Parrish Medical Center. Charles was born in Newark, New Jersey and came to Christmas, FL in 1996. Charles was a Sergeant Detective from the Newark Police Department, Retired. He served on the NPD from 1957 to 1982. In his free time he loved to travel.

Charles is survived by his daughters Helen Puentes and her husband Alberto of Christmas, Karen Murphy and her husband Brendan Maughan of Hutchinson Island, FL and Colleen Rivers of Christmas, FL and Son-in-law Felix Acosta of Edison, NJ;  grandchildren George, Brian, James, Theresa, Aimee, Heather, Stephen, Adam, Amanda, Alana, Richard, Joseph; 26 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Maureen Burger and Michael Murphy. Charles was preceded by his wife Frances (nee) Hudock, daughter Elizabeth Acosta and his siblings Thomas, Frank, Susan and Matthew.
