Obituary

On Tuesday August 6, 2019 William Roy Womack Jr. known by all who loved him as Bill, devoted family man and father of two sons, passed away at age 69.  Bill was born on June 22, 1950 in Laurinburg, NC to William R. Womack Sr. and Ermer Jean (Grimes) Womack.  Bill was a carpenter, electrician, mason, and plumber.  He managed construction projects throughout the Eastern United States for over 30 years.  In 1972 he married Deborah L (Powell) Womack, and they raised two sons, William, and Stuart.

Bill will always be remembered as a man with an easy smile, quick wit, devilish sense of humor, and the one who always showed up. He was passionate about fishing and racing, so if he wasn’t working, supporting any dozens of events for his sons or nieces, you could find him on the water or watching a race.  There was nothing he was more passionate about than his family and those he loved.  In his retirement he dedicated his time and energy to his sons, grandsons, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his father Bill, and his sister Wanda. He is survived by his mother Jean, his two sons Will, Stu and his wife Amber, his sister Sue, his nieces Karen, Veronica, and Vicki, his 5 grandsons, the mother of his children Deborah, his partner in life Cathy and his beloved Rascal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Fox Lake Park Main Pavilion on September 7, 2019 beginning at 1 PM.
