William Holden (Hodie) Christian, Sr., of Cocoa, FL, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, April 25th at Wuesthoff Medical Center.
Hodie was born May 23rd, 1948 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, to Richard Christian and Phyllis Mainguy Christian. Hodie grew up in Fort Lauderdale with his four brothers and sister - Bob, Herb, Richard, Gwen and Ray.
Hodie volunteered and served with honor in the US Army as a Sargent (E5) with the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry during the Vietnam War. After being medically retired from the Army Hodie moved his new wife (Jenny) and two sons Michael and Will (Jr) to Jewett Texas and worked for Nucor. He later moved to Deland, FL and worked for Volusia County Mosquito Control.
He later started a company called Cutting Edge Technologies, where, together with his son Michael, they managed environmental services for various county and state facilities. After retiring he married his current wife Kathy and moved to Cocoa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gwen Yates, brothers Ray, Richard and Herbie Christian, as well as his beloved dog Willow.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Kathy, his sons Mike and Will (Kristy) Christian of Florida, brother Bob (Jane) Christian of Texas, step-sister Linda Stone of Georgia, sister in-law Louis Christian, step-daughters Wendy (Randy) Kurtzman, Renee (Chris) Musante, Katy Padgett and Terry (Bryan) Ouellette and their children Richard Higgins, Jessica Higgins, Crystal Milliken, Sean Goetz all of Connecticut and his beloved dog Elly.
The family will receive friends at North Brevard Funeral Home Sunday May 8th from 4-6 pm. The burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Monday May 9th at 10 am.
