Wayne Gilbert Thibeau

THIBEAU, Wayne Gilbert (84) born December 16, 1937 and raised in Fort Fairfield, Maine, son of the late Gilbert and Dorothea Thibeau. He graduated from Fort Fairfield High School and attended Husson College for one year studying Accounting, then returned home to help manage his family’s farm.  He, his father, and his sons were successful Agway potato seed growers.  He married Marilyn O’Neal, May 4, 1957.  They raised six beautiful children, 3 girls and 3 boys, in their farmhouse in Fort Fairfield, Maine. 

He served on the Fort Fairfield School Board, Maine Potato Commission and Maine Potato Board.  His family received the Farm Family of the Year Award in 1986 and his 3 sons took over the Thibeau Seed Farm operation. 

In 1971 he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and it changed the trajectory of his life. He also served as Regional Director of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International.  He and Marilyn were very active in the local Christian community in Aroostook County, Maine where they helped establish a local church and school in 1976 known as Family Christian Center of Presque Isle, Maine. Here they served as members until he and Marilyn moved to Titusville, Florida in 2002.  There they were members of New Life Christian Fellowship and Wayne was an intercessory prayer partner for the local Christian radio station WPIO. In 2012 he was ordained and credentialed as a Minister of the Gospel. Wayne lived his life with purpose and intention, always sharing the Gospel with those around him. With his freshly shaven face, perfectly combed hair, and polished style he pulled the best one-liners. He was a patriarch, a miracle, humble, brave, strong, and courageous; even giving humor and strength to his family as he prepared to meet Jesus. As he would say, “It matters.” 

Wayne passed peacefully on Thursday, June 23. He is preceded in death by wife Marilyn Thibeau. He is survived by siblings Lois (Dick) Watson, Donna Dubay, and Brian Thibeau, along with sisters-in-law Gloria Albert and Christine (Steve) Poitras. Loving father of Peggy (Keith) Philbrick, Jeff (Celeste) Thibeau, Michael (Dane’t) Thibeau, Mary Beth (Chris) Manners, Randy (Vickie) Thibeau, and Suzanne (Scott) Roix. Devoted grandfather of Nicole (Ted), John (Kristen), Kristyn (Andrew), Caleb, Shanae (Wes), Justin (Cami), Josh (Jena), Chelsea (Moses), Sara, Daniel, Derek, Taylor (Melanie), Cody, Max, and Abby. Proud great grandfather of Camden, Benjamin, Hannah, Jaden, Eric, Ayla, Andy, Adaline, Alice, Axel, Ruby, Colton, Nathan, Nyah, Natalie, and great granddaughter Lindsay and great grandson Cohen on the way.

A celebration of life honoring both Wayne and his wife Marilyn will be held on Sunday, June 26 at 3:00pm at New Life Christian Fellowship 6755 S Washington Ave, Titusville, FL 32780.
