Van A Dannels

Van A. Dannels, 60, of Titusville, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Born in Wichita, Kansas, Van moved around a lot while his father served in the United States Military. He moved to Titusville, FL in his teens where he made a home for himself and his future family. Van shared a special bond with his daughter, who he personally had to deliver during the fires in 1998, when the doctor was not available. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree and worked as a Computer Engineer at the space center until the shuttle no longer launched.

Van had many hobbies and stayed very active. He enjoyed surfing, scuba diving, riding dirt bikes, photography, writing music and playing the guitar, some of his songs even being recorded. He hiked the Appalachian Trail every year with childhood friends. He stayed very active in church, having attended both Park Avenue Baptist Church and Indian River Methodist Church.

Van is survived by his daughter, Kyla Dannels(fiancé, James); mother, Geneva Dannels; his brother Kirk Dannels(Debbie); and two grandchildren: Robin and Jasper Gay. He was met in Heaven by his father, Claron Duane Dannels.
