Thomas Elliott Norton

Thomas E. Norton, Jr., age 77, of Titusville died peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2017 after a long, brave battle with illness.

Tommy was born in Sylva, North Carolina to Thomas and Frances Norton.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sylvia R. Norton.  They had two children, their daughter, Amy N. Williams and her husband, Jeff and their son, Wesley Norton and his wife, Leah.  They have five grandchildren, Elizabeth Futch, Ridge House, Jordan Norton, Sawyer Norton, and Ethan Norton.  They also have one great-grandson, Brody Futch.

Tommy served in the United States Air Force.  He retired as a watch engineer from the Orlando Utilities Commission.  He also officiated football, basketball, and softball for the Florida High School Athletic Association for many years.  Most recently, he accumulated over 5000 hours of volunteer time driving the shuttle carts for the Parrish Medical Center Auxiliary.

A memorial service to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the First Christian Church of Titusville on Jay Jay Road.  There will be a visitation with the family starting at 11:30 am and a service starting at 1:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Tommy’s name to the Hospice of St. Francis.
