Shirley A. Tomblin, 84, of Toledo, OH, formally of Titusville passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Born in Hiawatha, West Virginia to the late Lonnie and Esther Parks. Shirley graduated from Matoaka HS 1955 (Valedictorian of her class) - her favorite subjects were English and Math. She married Robert Earl “Bob” Tomblin in 1955 and moved to Cleveland, OH. In their retirement years they moved to Titusville, FL and enjoyed traveling to Bluegrass festivals and events (where Bob played mandolin in a Bluegrass band), and collecting carefully researched vintage glass, dolls, and coins. They became Space Shuttle enthusiasts, as they could view all the Shuttle launches from the launch pad while sitting on their lovely balcony overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. She was a seamstress at Maidenform until she had children, then became the most wonderful stay-at-home mother. She continued to be a very gifted seamstress throughout her life and was the pianist at her church for 25+ years (attended The Church of God her entire life) and worked as the treasurer/bookkeeper at her church many years. She enjoyed reading and the mental challenge of crossword and Sudoku puzzles and was well known for her meek, humble, and gentle personality. It has been said that her personality “sparkled”. She was also well known for her servant heart… it was always her passion to "take care" of everyone around her. In her later years, she loved walking and remaining physically active and lived the last two years of her life in Toledo, OH. Other than her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bob Tomblin; sisters, Brenda, Patsy Lee and brothers Garland, Billie, Donald Jason “D.J”. She will be greatly missed by her daughters Sandra (John) Haas, Karen (Ron) Bomba- Hoerig; son Brian (Theresa) Tomblin; grandchildren Lauren Haas, Jordan (Shannon) Haas, Ryan Bomba, Samantha (Corey) Bomba-Clary, Dylan Bomba, Chloe Tomblin and Connor Tomblin; sister Ruth Stratton and brother Lonnie Eugene “Gene” Parks. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11AM at North Brevard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10-11. Condolences may be shared at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com
