Obituary

Shirley Patricia Guilliams, 89, passed away peacefully at home in Titusville, FL on May 7, 2021.  She was born  on March 30, 1932 in Redding, Iowa to Jay and Lottie Smith.  Shirley married Charles Byron Guilliams on August 31, 1949 and spent forty-nine years together before he passed away in 1998.  They had eight children, seven sons and one daughter in the span of twelve years.  Shirley was a loving Mother and worked hard to make sure her children had what they needed.  Shirley and her husband, Byron spent most of their married years in Clinton, Iowa raising their children, moving to Titusville in 1995 to enjoy their retirement years.

As her children got older Shirley stayed busy.  She worked at International Paper in Clinton, Iowa and was active in Weight Watchers for many years. After moving to Florida, she and her husband were active volunteers at the Canaveral National Sea Shore. She enjoyed socializing while quilting at Quilters Guild, doing water aerobics and going on adventures with close friends. Most of all, she loved her family and enjoyed having their company as often as possible.

Shirley is survived by her seven sons, James (Bonnie), Charles (Kaye), Jack, Richard (Danielle), Thomas (Lori), Theodore and Joseph;  Daughter, Sharon Rursch; Sisters, Dorothy (Robert) McCreary and Donna Murphy;  twenty-three grandchildren; forty-three great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and special friend Jesse Scrogge.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Byron Guilliams; Her parents, Jay and Lottie Smith; Brothers:  Glee Smith, Daryl Smith, Clifford Smith, Victor Smith and Jack Smith; Sister, Maxine Barnett Norris
