Obituary

Sandi Gardner passed away from a very short battle with metastatic melanoma of the liver on June 9, 2018, in Titusville, Florida. Sandi was born on May 29, 1960, in Valdosta, Georgia.

Sandi graduated from Astronaut High School in 1978 and then from the University of Central Florida in 1982. Following college, Sandi worked in the field of Medical Records Administration for a number of hospitals and facilities in the state of Florida. She came back to Titusville  and was involved in Park Avenue Baptist Church's single's ministry, and it was during this time that she met and fell in love with Michael Gardner. They were married on November 12, 1999.

In February 2003, Michael and Sandi flew to China to meet their adopted daughter, Amanda Rui-Fu Gardner, and bring her home. Sandra's mission from this time until God took her home last Saturday was to provide a loving and nurturing home environment for both Michael and Rui, and she took great joy in every opportunity she had to bless and serve her family. Additionally, in the last several years, Sandi was a regular substitute teacher and teacher's aide for the Exceptional Student Education classes in several of the local elementary schools. To serve these students became a passion of hers, and she made this a top priority in her weekly schedule.

Sandi was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Graham, in November 2006. She is survived by her husband, Michael, and daughter, Rui; her father, Dale Graham and wife, Elizabeth; and her sister, Teresa Graham White. The adjectives used to describe "Auntie" by her nephew, Benjamin, and niece, Caralee, are devoted, engaged, invested and committed. She is also survived by Ben's wife, Jacqueline, and Caralee's husband, Paul Giebeig.

A celebration of Sandi's life will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 2:00pm at Park Avenue Baptist Church, 2600 S. Park Ave, Titusville, Florida 32780. Visitation begins at 1:30pm. Flowers are welcome but if a donation is preferred, the family requests that the Hospice of St. Francis facility of Titusville be the charity recipient. Their address is 1250 Grumman Pl, Titusville, FL 32780.

We are greatly saddened by Sandi's passing but are blessed to know that her life honored and glorified the Lord, and that all who knew her were personally touched by her loving and unselfish spirit and her deep, abiding joy. Her laughter will continue to ring out in our hearts and minds. We are all thankful for the time we had with her and the joy she brought to our family.
