Roger "Rog" Samuel Robinson, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving children on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Orlando VA Medical Center.
Roger was born on April 5, 1943 in Clifton Springs, NY, the son of the late George and Dorothy Robinson. After graduating from Clifton Springs High School in 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country until 1964. Upon returning from the service, Roger joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local Union 85 of Rochester, NY and was a Superintendent for several construction companies in the Rochester area until moving to Titusville, FL in 1984. After working for a number of local general contractors, Roger started his own company, RSR Construction, in the early 1990’s. He officially retired in 2009.
Roger enjoyed history, antique collecting, reading, and spending time with his family. He was known for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and always speaking his mind. Affectionately known as “Pops” to many on his crew, he was always willing to sit and share a drink while imparting an important “life lesson.” His grandchildren were his greatest joy. Whether it was playing board games, building puzzles, watching SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron, attending their sporting events, or even baby-doll-sitting, Grandpa was always a willing participant. His bad jokes will live on through them and will never be forgotten.
Roger is survived by his children:
Daughter Niki (Todd) Nelson of Alexandria, VA
Daughter Brooke (John) Tegas of Penfield, NY
Son Aaron Robinson of Titusville, FL
Grandchildren: Olivia Nelson, Ryan Tegas, Perri Tegas and Christiano Tegas
Brother Dale Robinson of Holliswood, NY
Brother Gary (Joan) Robinson of Titusville, FL
Brother Robert (Pat) Robinson of Prospect, NY
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins
Many friends he considered family
Roger will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with full military honors at 10am Monday November 22, 2021.
