Patricia F Moore

December 31, 1931 ~ March 22, 2024 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Florine Schouten Moore on March 22, 2024, at the age of 92.  She left this earthly body to be with her Lord in heaven.  Pat was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother “Mema” and friend.

Pat was born on December 31, 1931, in Beulah, WY to Herman & Mabel Schouten. She was one of 6 children. Herman immigrated with his family from Holland in 1909 and Pat was always proud of her Dutch heritage. The Schouten family also lived in Sundance, WY before settling in Denver, CO where Pat later met and married Ralph Moore in 1952. Together, they lived in many different cities including Boulder, Cheyenne, Topeka, Abilene, and Tulsa before settling in Titusville, FL in 1968.

A pilot, Ralph often flew their family in the small Piper Pacer airplane he restored. Pat often served as his “navigator”, and even soloed her own flight at the age of 40. Pat spent her career of 30 years as a bookkeeper at Sears where she developed lifelong friends. Always driven to be active, after she retired, Pat volunteered over 16,000 hours as an auxilian at her local hospital.

A gifted seamstress, quilter and artist (painter), Pat created countless homemade crafts and paintings for family and friends. Her legacy, however, is her shining example of a faithful Christian woman who loved everyone and was a longtime and active member of North Brevard Church of Christ.

Pat is survived by her four children: David, Steve (Monique), Lori Melzer (Mike), and Doug (Georgia); her younger sister and traveling companion, Sheryl Reagan (George); and her five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Pat loved to travel and had many travel adventures with her sister Sheryl. They would entertain our family and friends with stories of their adventures. She always missed and longed for the sound of mountain streams and waterfalls.

Pat had a full life with family and friends, and she will be missed and loved by all.  “Mema” has touched each and every one of us, and has left us with memories we will cherish forever.
