Opal Nell Marchant

Opal Marchant, 87, of Mims, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 7, 2018 at home, surrounded by her children.

Born in Cullman County, Alabama, her family moved to Tampa, Florida when she was 18 months old.  She graduated from H. B. Plant High School and the Business University of Tampa.

In 1950 she married Clyde C. Lindsley and had four children.  The family relocated to Brevard County in 1960.  In 1980, she moved with Clyde and Scott to Asheville, NC and after Clyde’s sudden passing in 1981, she relocated with Scott back to Brevard County.  Opal married Richard Marchant in January 1984.  Richard passed away in 2015.

Opal is survived by her children, C. Thomas Lindsley, Beverly (Bob) Muraski, Barbie (Mark) Eslin, and Scott (Janet) Lindsley, as well as 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her cherished sister, Billye (Bob) Stoneley.

Opal’s life was spent in service to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Before moving to North Brevard County in 1999, she was a member of the Tabernacle Church in Melbourne for 28 years.  She was an Administrative Assistant, having worked at Harris Semiconductor, Mountain Area Health Education Center, St. John’s Episcopal Church, and Holmes Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of Hope Community Fellowship in Titusville until her death.

Opal enjoyed Bible study, quilting, reading, and crossword puzzles. 

A memorial service will be held October 27, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Hope Community Fellowship, 2929 Cheney Hwy., Titusville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Hope Community Fellowship, or to the Wegener’s Granulomatosis Association, PO Box 28660, Kansas City, MO 64118-8660.
