Nelson Nunez, 84, died peacefully in his sleep on January 9, 2021. Nelson worked for Rockwell/Boeing at Kennedy Space Center and retired in 1997 after an extensive career with space program. He received his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and master’s degree in management. Nelson started his missile career with the 11th Tactical Missile Squadron at Orlando Air Force Base, Florida in 1955. During his free time, he enjoyed touring the countryside in his British MGB Roadster and ballroom dancing. As an avid WWII buff, Nelson toured many European/Pacific and Stateside war sites including his attendance at the 50th D-Day Anniversary ceremony in Normandy, France. Nelson is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Beverly; son Steven (June); daughter Sherryl (Kelly) and son Michael (Amy) and four grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 3PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
