Muray Ray Schmidt, 84, passed away Friday January 7, 2021 at Edward M. Poe Hospice Care Center in Titusville. Muray was born and raised in Kissimmee, FL. After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a helicopter mechanic in Germany. Once honorably discharged, he attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Degree in Architecture in 1965. Muray worked as a Certified Architect for most of his life until he retired. In his free time he enjoyed leatherwork, metal detecting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, listening to swapshop, taking care of his rose bushes, and learning new skills and hobbies.
Muray is survived by his eldest daughter Karen and her husband Adam Cain, his son Lamar Schmidt, his grandchildren Chloe and Emilie Schmidt, and Chris Cain. Muray was preceded by the love of his life, his wife Joanne Harper Schmidt in 2013.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday January 14, 2022. Service will be at 11am Saturday January 15, 2022, in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Joanne.
