Michael Lee Ammons, 60, of Titusville, went home to Jesus on June 1, 2019, at Holmes Regional Medical Center after fighting cancer for the second time. Mike was born on April 18, 1959, in Petersburg, VA, and grew up in Carol City, FL. His family moved to Titusville in 1975 and he graduated from Titusville High School in 1977. He went on to graduate from Brevard Community College and attended the University of Central Florida. In the early 1980s, Mike became a mechanical contractor and was proud to be the youngest person in the state to pass that exam at the time. He later became a building contractor and owned his own business for forty years. Everyone who knew him loved him for his kindness and willingness to help anyone who needed it. He was known for always having a smile on his face, his quick wit, and his love for his family and country. He was a true southern gentleman. Mike loved the Lord and some of his final words were, "Jesus is with me, so I'll be fine." He will be missed every day, but we know we will see him again. Mike is survived by Luanne, his high school sweetheart and wife of forty years; his daughters, Amanda (Terry) Tullis and Mariah (Paul) Seus; his grandchildren, Lukas and Leighton; his sister, Sharon (Bill) Gray and brother Glenn (Lesa) Ammons; his seven nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Ammie Daniel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lovelene Ammons and Lee Ammons. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 7, at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
