Mattie Smith

Mattie N. Smith, 96, of Titusville went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family.  Mattie was born on September 24, 1926 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Eddie and Mattie Johnson. She served as a missionary at Frist Born Church of the Living God. She worked for the Brevard County School Board for twenty years and retired in 1988. She enjoyed reading The Bible and crossword puzzles but, most of all she enjoyed her time as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Other than her parents, Mattie is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Smith and son Paul Johnson. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Gloria Postell, Bernard (Ivy) Johnson, Tasha Johnson; great grandchildren Anthony (Latisha) Kelly, Xaiver (Tessa) Lee, Latasha Smith, Victoria Hill, Jas Manique Pringle, Cory and Vincent Johnson, Julian Lightner and Jordan Walker; nine great-great grandchildren; sisters Arnette Johnson, Kathy Barrow (Mark), Geraldine William; cousins AJ Mercury, LD Mincery, Geraldine Williams, Alfred Wright. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at North Brevard Funeral Home from 10-11 with a funeral service at 11AM. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
