Obituary

Mary Helen Ferguson 69 of Mims, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Titusville surrounded by her family.

Mom was born in Knoxville, TN and came to Titusville in 1954. She graduated from Titusville High School in 1970. Mom was a faithful Christian.  She was a past member of Way of Life Baptist Church and New Fellowship Baptist Church. She worked at Flagship Bank then later retired from Belk Lindsey’s.  Mom went on to work at North Brevard Funeral Home. For many years mom enjoyed her lunches and shopping trips with Judy, Melanie and Sudie. They formed their own unofficial “Red Hats/Neighborhood Watch” club.  They spent countless hours eating, playing cards, and “watching” from Sudie’s garage. Mom was always up for an adventure…she did not let her wheelchair slow her down.  Mom also enjoyed all of her shopping trips with Judy and Cheryl (Mom's devoted friend)…always shopping for Shelby! Most of those trips ended up with Judy waiting on mom to finish talking to everyone she knew.

Mom is survived by her loving son David, his wife Ruth and the one that always made her smile the biggest, her granddaughter Shelby. Mom also leaves behind her sister, Judy Taylor, Mom’s devoted and unwavering caregiver for over 20 years, her sister-in-law Brenda Reed Sharp, her brother-in-law Shannon Ivey, nieces Laura Ann, Shannon Faye, and Shelly, nephews Ray, Jim, Terry, Robert and Steven, many great nieces and great nephews. Mom was preceded in death by her father Raymond Reed, her mother Cletta Reed, sister Flo Ivey, brothers Ronnie Reed, Eddie Reed and Steven Reed, sister-in-law Melanie Reed and brother-in-law Jerry Taylor.

A viewing will be held from 5-7 pm on Friday and the funeral will be held at 3 pm Saturday, all at First Baptist Church of Aurantia in Mims.

The family would like to thank Dr. Chapla for the excellent medical care he provided over the years, and a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Jane Vickers for over 17 years of devoted home care.   They would also like to thank the staff at St. Francis Reflections Edward M. Poe Hospice Care Center for the compassion they extended to Mom as she prepared for her trip to Heaven.

The Best Mom Ever!
