Obituary

Mary Robertson, of Indian River City (Titusville), was born on September 8, 1949, to Luther DeWayne Adams of Titusville, FL, and Patricia Adams of Bethnal Green, England, and went home to the Lord on April 21, 2024. Her Surviving Family is her Husband Jimmy Robertson of Titusville, FL; Stepdaughter Jeannie Powers of Syracuse, NY with husband Jim Powers; Sister Rebecca May of Corpus Christi, TX; Brother Jeremy Adams, of Titusville, FL; Daughters, Janet LeClair of Longwood, FL with husband, Jason LeClair; Beth Castle of Sanford, FL and Anne Brignoni of Leesburg, FL with husband Elmer Brignoni and Grandchildren, Lauren Methven with Josh Dietrick and his son Carson, Taylor Owler with fiancée DeAnne Levine, Erica Castle with fiancé Colin Kozak and Victoria Castle.

Growing up, Mary and her family lived on the family homestead on old US 1 on the Indian River. Mary and her siblings in the early 50’s loved being outdoors whether it was jumping in the river, playing ball or finding their own adventures with friends, even trying to get each other in trouble, it was always fun!

At 16, Mary traveled with her mother abroad to England to visit her grandmother for the first time. It was a very exciting trip for all, and Mary even had the opportunity to drive on the wrong side of the road!

Mary’s best friend in school, Shelby Youngblood, introduced her to her first husband, Richard Huddleston, to whom she was married for 19 years and had three wonderful daughters, Janet, Beth, and Anne.

Following Christ, church life and family has always been a huge part of Mary’s story. From the start Church of the Nazarene, to Temple Baptist Church, and now Victory Baptist Church, Mary always found ways to support the church and the congregation. Ministries, visitations, cleaning, and nursery work, she was a servant of the Lord. Her gifts and talents were found in her love and nurturing spirit for the children. This has been evident throughout her entire life by being Mom or Mam-ma to so many she came in contact with, whether it was for a short time or a precious long time.

Richard went to be with the Lord in 1986 and Mary continued to take care of her girls and love and serve the Lord. She found Jimmy in 1991 through her work and knew he was for her! Two months later they were married! This of course was after he was approved by all three girls. Jimmy and his daughter Jeannie were now added to the family—-now if only grandchildren…

Beginning in 1997 through 2010, Mary’s four grandchildren were born, Lauren, Taylor, Erica, and Victoria. With this role, she retired from Publix after 10 years, and discovered an entirely new level of love as Grandma, best known as Mam-ma. Friday night game nights, road trips, beach days, shopping trips and sleepovers were staples for the grandkids. Her selfless love and sacrifice for her grandchildren and family were always present.

Mary’s life has been devoted to God, her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She led by example to all who called her Mom, Mam-ma or friend and has left a lasting legacy of God and family being the foundation to all things.

The light that shone through Mary for all to see and feel was the light of Jesus as she served the Lord so well throughout her life. Mary made an impact on anyone she came in contact with whether it was just a smile, a hug, a conversation, or some act of love that she could offer.

Mary longed for the day her faith would allow her to be face to face with Jesus and today we celebrate that she is rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Saviour and we will be able to join her one day together in worshiping Christ.
