January 14, 1937 ~ June 11, 2022 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Obituary

THIBEAU, Marilyn Louise (O’Neal) (85) born January 14, 1937 and raised in Caswell, Maine, daughter of the late Elwood and Mary O’Neal. She graduated salutatorian of Limestone High School, was active in 4-H and received her nursing degree from Eastern Maine General Hospital.  She became a potato farmer’s wife when she married Wayne Thibeau, May 4, 1957.  They raised six beautiful children, 3 girls and 3 boys, in their farmhouse in Fort Fairfield, Maine, just as she had prayed for. In 1971, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was forever changed. She was a member of Aglow International.  Marilyn and Wayne were very active in the local Christian community in Aroostook County, Maine where they helped establish a local church and school in 1976 known as Family Christian Center.  Here they served as members until she and Wayne moved to Titusville, Florida in 2002 where they were members of New Life Christian Fellowship.  Marilyn was a powerful prayer warrior with immense faith. She was an avid Red Sox fan which began with her love of Ted Williams and she walked to baseball games while she studied at Boston Children’s Hospital to watch him play left field. Known to bake a mean molasses cookie and host parties small and large, she opened her home and heart to anyone in need. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were unmatched. As the matriarch of her large immediate family she never ceased to send a birthday card and special gift, along with a Happy Birthday phone call to all 52 (and counting) immediate family members. Quick to hum a tune in the kitchen, knit a dish cloth for her family and friends, sip a cup of tea, and giggle at herself, she taught those around her not to worry and find rest in God’s goodness.  A true servant’s heart, she made everyone around her feel uniquely loved. To encapsulate her 85 years in a few paragraphs is impossible, but to know her was to love her.
Marilyn passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 11. She is survived by husband, Wayne Thibeau; sisters, Gloria Albert and Christine (Steve) Poitras; sisters-in-law, Lois (Dick) Watson and Donna Dubay and brother-in-law, Brian Thibeau. Loving mother of Peggy (Keith) Philbrick, Jeff (Celeste) Thibeau, Michael (Dane’t) Thibeau, Mary Beth (Chris) Manners, Randy (Vickie) Thibeau, and Suzanne (Scott) Roix. Devoted grandmother of Nicole (Ted), John (Kristen), Kristyn (Andrew), Caleb, Shanae (Wes), Justin (Cami), Josh (Jena), Chelsea (Moses), Sara, Daniel, Derek, Taylor (Melanie), Cody, Max, and Abby.
