Marie K Vevera 89, residing in Titusville, FL passed away peacefully at Community Hospice, McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL on Friday May 11, 2018.  Marie was born in Swissvale, PA on November 14, 1928 to the late Ross and Jennie Cannici.  As a young child, her parents moved to Rochelle Park, NJ where she resided until her marriage to James E Vevera, on April 24, 1954.  Soon after their marriage, they moved to Titusville to begin their married life in the midst of activates at Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center.  Marie and Jim were married for 59 years when Jim passed away on Feb. 21, 2013.

They raised three children their son, the late James A. Vevera of Titusville, who passed away in May 2011, and two daughters, Valerie Holt of Signal Mountain, TN and Patricia (Alok) Anil, of Bronxville, NY.  Marie often said that some of her happiest days were the many years the children lived at home and she and her husband Jim would enjoy meeting their friends and participating in their many activities.

Marie was a loving mother whose first priority in life was her family.  She will be deeply missed.  Her integrity and caring ways touched the lives of many people she met through church activities and respite care. Marie had six grandchildren, Matthew, Lauren and Lindsay Holt, Ankit Anil and Meghann and Corey Vevera and one great-grandchild, Lily Holt.  Two brothers survive her, Anthony Cannici of Lodi, NJ and Joe Cannici of Viera, FL.  In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased in death by her brother Russ Cannici.

She was a member at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Titusville, FL and Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims, FL.  She worked for 17 years and retired from the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Office in Titusville.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be conducted at 1 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens on Garden St. with a reception immediately following at Emmaus Hall, Holy Spirit.

Many thanks to the Mayo Clinic and Community Hospice, McGraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL who, with great comfort and compassion, took care of Marie during the final days of her life.
