Obituary

Margaret Hlinka, 92, of Titusville,  passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2020.  Known as "Margie" or "Marge" to family and friends, she was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Aunt, and Great-Great Aunt.  Margie was born in Munhall, PA, the 6th of 10 children.  While working for Braniff Airlines, she was transferred to NY.  She met John Hlinka, of Brooklny, NY at St. Nicholas Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church in Manhattan, the day of his niece's Christening June 23, 1957.  They then married October 11, 1958 and had their son, John Peter and then their daughter, Tanya Maria in River Vale, NJ.

Marge was an avid bowler with her league at Montvale Lanes, a Brownie and Girl Scout Troop Leader, and enjoyed her weekly Mahjong group.  As a dedicated member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Spring Valley, NY she was passionate about the Sisterhood, endlessly baked and made pierogi for fundraisers, and loved singing in the choir as a soprano.  Her dedication to the church and her faith was limitless.

Marge and John moved to Titusville, FL in 1987 where they continued their commitment to being active parishioners of St. Simeon Russian Orthodox Church.  Continuing to serve on the church council, sing in the choir and bake brought joy to her heart.  As an active member of the VFW, and volunteer at Royal Oaks Nursing home, she brought smiles and laughter as she endlessly helped others.  After a loving marriage of 47 years, she held John's hand as he passed peacefully in 2005.  Marge continued on with her love for life, endlessly baking, singing in the choir, gardening and making new friends in the "Sassy Sisters" Red Hat Club in Titusville.

Marge is survived by her son John and wife Anne in NJ, daughter Tanya and husband David in FL, sister Dorothy in Ohio, granddaughter Katherine in NJ, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors of whom she all loved dearly.
