Obituary

Louis Earl Sanders of Scottsmoor devoted husband of Teresa  peacefully entered his heavenly home on Saturday September 24, 2022 with his loving family at his side.

Born on January 11, 1950 in Seneca SC, Louis was the son of Grady L. Sanders and Wilma F. Sanders. Louis and his family relocated to the North Brevard community of Scottsmoor in 1956 and Louis attended Mims Elementary School, Parkway Junior High School and Titusville High School during his formative years. Louis was a proud member of the Jack O’Brien coached Titusville High Terriers from 1965 to 1967 and he and his teammates still enjoy their life long friendships developed on the football field. Louis graduated THS in 1968. In 1969 Louis was drafted into the U. S. Army and served honorably for two years including a tour in a Vietnam. Due to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam he developed Multiple Myeloma and had a valiant 7 year fight before succumbing to the cancer.

Following his Army service in Vietnam Louis began a 3 year apprenticeship with the Ironworkers Local in Orlando and was selected the top graduate of his 3 year class. After working on major projects at the Space Center, Tampa, Orlando, Daytona and the Ford Motor Plant in Oklahoma City he returned to North Brevard permanently.

In 1980 he married his life long love Teresa Lynn Tew and they were blessed with 2 sons Kyle and Kody. Shortly after their marriage they decided to venture into the restaurant business and opened a barbecue restaurant in Mims. The restaurant became a staple for the citizens of North Brevard for decades. In 2014 Louis, Teresa, Kyle, Kody and Christin opened Shilohs Steak and Seafood in Titusville and again have been honored to serve the North Brevard Area for nearly a decade. Louis, Teresa, Kyle and Christin are proud and appreciative of the employees of Shilohs and their former restaurants and feel they all are family to them.

Louis was well known in North Brevard for assisting groups such as schools, churches, youth sports, high school sports and those in need. He also served on the North Brevard Development District Board. Louis was always passionate about helping organizations and supporting projects that benefited the citizens of North Brevard especially children and community members with major medical challenges. Louis grew up in Scottsmoor and was proud that he and his family were charter members of the First Baptist Church of Scottsmoor. When he was in high school he drew the original plans for the construction of the Scottsmoor Volunteer Fire Department. Louis was proud of his North Brevard  roots and was always a great ambassador and promoter for North Brevard.
