Kim Marie Whaley, a devoted wife and mother passed away peacefully on August 10, 2020 at the age of 43 in Satellite Beach Florida. Kim was born on July 10, 1977 in Columbus Ohio. Kim's parents, John and Patricia Wynkoop would like to thank everyone for their kindness and prayers as they prepare to lay their beloved daughter to rest.
Kim and her daughter Alexis (Lexie) moved to Florida in 2006. She met her future husband, Alex, that same year. They were married on June 7, 2014 with their daughter, family and friends sharing their happy day. They made their home in Satellite beach and shared a good life creating many happy memories together. Kim worked for a short time at a hair salon and Wendy's. Later they both attended Everest University where they received their medical assistant diplomas. Kim and Alex decided that she would be a stay at home mom to Lexie as her family's happiness was what Kim always put first.
Alex knows that meeting and marrying Kim changed his life for the better. They did everything together. She had a way of making him laugh and she helped him become more family oriented and want to be involved in family occasions, for that we thank her. Alex loved sitting next to her and listening to her laugh as she watched her favorite show Friends, enjoyed their spontaneous trips together and loved hearing her say that as long as they had family they needed nothing else.
He is devastated that his best friend is no longer by his side in body, no longer will he turn and see her smile or hear her laugh and wonders how he will get through the days ahead. "Kim, you will always remain the heart and soul of my life and I will never forget you. I promise to do my best to guide our daughter through life, as you would have. I Love you Kim!"
Lexie remembers one morning when she and her mom took princess to the beach to watch the sunrise. It was a beautiful morning and she could see that her mom was very happy as they collected shells. She loved seeing her mom smile and hearing her talk as they walked along the beach. She said she would always hold that day close to her heart.
Kim not only loved her family but also loved her Boxer Princess. She was her companion during the day, her friend always. Losing Princess was a painful loss for Kim. When she was surprised recently with her puppy Harmonie, it put such a big happy smile on her face.
Kim enjoyed being involved in her Country Scents business and ventured into other sales area. This made it possible for her to be home for Lexie and Alex but have an outlet for her to meet others.
Kim's parents, John and Patricia, share that as a child Kim enjoyed playing dress-up and later used her "skills" to become a cosmetologist. She was active in the youth group at David Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the choir and playing bells. Kim also played clarinet in the Canal Winchester Marching Band throughout high school. She loved animals and volunteered to raise a puppy that was then trained to be a Service Dog. Kim was a loving caring person who always put friends and family first. She had a gentle soul but was a strong advocate for others in need.
Alex, we will always be here for you and Lexie. Just know we loved Kim and she was a special part of our family and will be deeply missed always. If you were lucky enough to be Kim's friend you were truly blessed. A better friend would be hard to find.
Kim loved her brothers, Robert (Lisa), John (Stephanie), Jason (Brandi) and Sisters Joann (Ken) and Marlana. She also had a special bond with her Godson Aaron. Kim was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and loving grandmother (Xavier, Jayden and Alexis) and stepmother to Alawnzo (Lisa). Kim's family here in Florida, Maria and Johnny, Joyce and Johnny, Allyiah, Azyiah and Mya will miss being around her as she was such a thoughtful person whom we all truly loved. Kim also has a large extended family in TN and Panama who send their love and prayers.
"Kim, it broke our hearts to lose you but we know God has you in his keeping and we have you in our hearts.
We thought of you today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
We have cried so many tears yet our hearts broken just the same. We have so many precious memories of you each one reminders of how much were missing you.
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
Until we meet again"
