Obituary

Kenneth Ray Derossett, 83, died Saturday August 31, 2019 at the Hospice of St Francis in Titusville, FL surrounded by his family.

Ray was born in Grand Tower, Illinois on November 29, 1935. He was the youngest of seven children and is preceded in death by his youngest son, James Arthur Derossett (Christine), Orange Park, FL, his parents, Nora and James, his brothers, James, Paul and Charles and sisters, Pauline, Mildred and Alice.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 at 18,  turning 19 while stationed in Japan. He spent the next 23 years traveling the world, retiring  from the U.S Air Force as a Master Sergeant and taking up  residence in Titusville, FL in 1985.  He completed his career with McDonnell Douglas and happily retired in 1992.

Ray is survived by his wife Anna Kathryn (nee DeBruhl) Derossett of Titusville, his children DeAnna Szpendyk (Tony)of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Greg Derossett (Mary) of Rockledge, FL, Jane Denardo (Matt) of Titusville, FL and Marshall Derossett of Titusville, FL. 

Ray is also survived by all of his loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was the patriarch of a large and loving family, appreciative of his dry sense of humor and unique turn of phrase, which combined, will leave his family with stories, anticdotes and enough memories to last a lifetime.

He enjoyed Clint Eastwood movies, Louis L'Amour novels, all of Elvis Presley's music.

A celebration of Ray's life, with full military honors, will be held at 1 pm Saturday, September 14, 2019 at North Brevard Funeral Home, Titusville, Fl.

A private internment ceremony will take place at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
