KAREN THOMASINE HARTOS

August 3, 1955 ~ October 10, 2020 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Obituary

Karen Thomasine DeMonic Hartos, 65, passed away on October 10, 2020 at her home in Mims, Florida. She was born on August 3, 1955 in Spangler, Pennsylvania to the late John and Rose DeMonic.

Karen at a young age enjoyed playing with her sister, Missy; drawing, painting and playing music.  Karen graduated from St. Teresa’s Catholic School, then Titusville High School.  She furthered her education by earning a Bachelor’s degree from Florida Technological University (now UCF).  After graduating from college, she married her husband, Randy, and her adventurous side was satisfied by traveling the world with him while he served in the US Army.

Her life became even more adventurous with the birth of her daughter, Rachel.  She moved back to her roots in the Central Florida area to raise her daughter and be close to her father.  Her passion for molding young minds was fulfilled when she returned to Saint Teresa’s Catholic School as a teacher.

Karen, Mom, Gma, and Mrs. Hartos (to her St. Teresa Students) was a beautiful soul that filled the world with her energy.  In all aspects of her life, her dedication, creativity and love for teaching shined brightly.  From raising butterflies to hatching chickens, she took great pride in educating her students about all of God’s creatures, great and small.

She especially enjoyed passing her vibrant wisdom onto her granddaughter, Hartley.  Karen’s heart and soul melted at the sight of her granddaughter and nothing made Gma prouder than helping raise her Hart Hart.

Her family gives thanks for her genuinely kind spirit, her unwavering dependability without expecting anything in return, her infectious enthusiasm and her natural ability to inspire people to want to be the best version of themselves.  If Karen contributed to your life in any way, please continue to carry her in your heart.

Karen is survived by her husband, Randy; Daughter, Rachel Dance (Jesse); Granddaughter, Hartley; Brother, J DeMonic (Debbie); Sisters: Melissa Dorosh (Mark) and Lisa Ulbricht (Bill).
