Joseph Andre Witol

December 22, 1938 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Our dear father and husband Joseph Andre Witol, whose lifelong love of traveling led him to his wife and was passed on to two generations, came to the end of his Earthly journey on February 8, 2024, in Titusville, FL, at the age of 85.

Born December 22, 1938, in New York City, Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer. He left the military to care for his ailing mother and went to work for Eastern Airlines. At Eastern, he worked in many roles, including as a gate agent, and air freight training supervisor. The job with the airline also gave him opportunities to travel, and during one of his travels he met Maria, who would become his companion and loving wife for the rest of his life. He and Maria started their family in New York City, eventually relocating to Orlando.

His legacy was his unwavering love for his family; a hard-working responsible man, he went to great lengths to care for his family, even through life’s hardships, and never stopped caring for those he loved. He took great care to make others feel calm and reassured, and to keep smiling through life’s difficulties, including during his final days.

Joseph enjoyed life wandering in the beauty of nature, admiring sunsets and sunrises, camping, going to Playa Linda Beach, and watching rocket and shuttle launches on Florida’s Space Coast, especially with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Marie Yvonne (Breton) Witol, and his brother, Elmer Witol. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria Consuelo (Calvillo) Witol; his children, Adrienne Witol and husband Warren Harris; Marueen Witol and husband Chris Hogan; and Veronica Miller and husband Jason; plus two grandsons, Austin and Logan.

A memorial Mass is being planned; details will be made available once arrangements are confirmed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joseph’s honor to the Osceola Council on Aging at
