Obituary
Jeanne Marie Brenwald, 94, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2021. She was born on
December 16, 1926 to the late Lloyd Enterline and Grace Wakefield Enterline in Jamestown,
Pennsylvania. She was a dedicated, caring and loving mother to her four children. Jeanne loved her
family and, to a lesser degree, crocheting and word search puzzles.
Jeanne tirelessly cared for her children and her grandchildren thereafter. She was the first to rise in the
morning, already busy with breakfast before the sun or anyone else could rise. Soon after, she was
meticulously pruning and caring for her flower bed. It could be said that she moved between one
caretaking activity to another - from meals, to plants, to kids, to her husband, to her home, and back
again… every day for as long as the oldest of her grandchildren can remember. Even in her waning years,
she could be found pulling weeds on her daughters’ property… tending to whatever environment she
had before her. But plants and people are different causes and her greatest impact on Her Father’s Earth
was the time, effort, and treasure she sewed into the needs of her family. All of Jeanne’s children can
point to entire summers in which she would open her house to the next generation, so the one before it
could work toward a better life for a small period. Grandchildren simply remember spending those
summers eating well, sleeping comfortably, and running around carelessly as children should. As the
family grew up, and the obstacles got higher and more complex, there wasn’t a single time when Jeanne
did not find a way to boost them up or soften the blow. If her body had stayed under her command, she
would have reached down to another generation because that’s all she knew. Until she had nothing left
to give, she gave… and she gave… and she loved… and her family loved her very much… and they will
miss her greatly.
Jeanne is survived by her son, David, and his wife, Sheri; daughters, Sharon and Barbara; ten
grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and several great great-grands. She is predeceased by her
husband of 55 years, Joseph, her daughter, Ruth, and granddaughter, Pamela.
There will be a visitation held for Jeanne on Monday, March 1st at New Fellowship Baptist Church from
12:30 – 1 pm with a funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will follow the services at Oaklawn Memorial
Gardens at 2 pm.
