James Robert Miller, a former Ohio resident, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at his home in Titusville, Florida.
Jim was born August 9, 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Paul and Anna Mae Miller.
Jim was determined and kind. He was a 1965 Valley High School Graduate. He served his country via the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. He was a graduate of Shawnee State University where he received his Associate Degree.
He worked as a subcontract manager for 30 years at Bechtel Corporation. This job not only provided for his family and himself, but also afforded him the opportunity to travel not only to several places in the United States, but also to see the world. He lived several years in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and China.
He had a passion for fishing, golfing and baseball. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He was a great story teller. His adventures of traveling were quite interesting, especially the way Jim reenacted his version.
Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Massie Miller: daughter, Jennifer Miller and son, Richard Miller: brothers, Paul (Christi) Miller of Rocky Mount, NC.: Don (JoAnn) Miller of Lucasville, Ohio: sisters, Debbie Kester of Lucasville, Ohio and Pam (Kevin) Blume of Minford, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
At his request, a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on March 2, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville, Ohio with Pastor Tom Williams and Pastor John Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice or the Veterans Administration.
