Gerald Dwight Hughes

Gerald “Jerry” Dwight Hughes, age 58, of Titusville FL, died Saturday afternoon February 8, 2020, at St. Francis Hospice Facility in Titusville surrounded by family.   

Jerry is survived by his wife, Denise, of 38 years, son Christopher (soon-to-be daughter-in-law Samantha) Hughes, daughters Ashley Hughes and Michelle (Jonathan) Warner, mother, Sherry (Jan) Ferguson, sister, Sandy Hughes, brother, Carl (Janice) Hughes, and nephew, Jackson Schwerdt, along with many extended family members and pets. Jerry was a loving father, husband, and friend to everyone – especially if you enjoy a good laugh.

Jerry was born to Sherry Ferguson and the late Horace “Bud” Hughes on September 22, 1961, in Huntsville, AL. He graduated from Brevard Community College in 1982 and worked as a general manager for ~30 years, 11 of which were at Goodman Global Incorporated; he also served as an active member of his church. He poured himself into what he was doing- always putting others first. At work, he received 6 awards for excellence in branch management, sales, and performance. As a member of his church, he donated time, energy, and financial resources to provide for those in need- including homeless, widow, and children ministries. In his spare time/when not working, he loved taking others out to eat, shopping, watching college football (roll tide!), working out, working on the house, and golfing. To quote Jerry’s co-worker and friend, “…[everyone] adored Jerry. He was a great person and will be deeply missed. Heaven received a heck of an angel.”  

Services will be held Saturday, February 15, at 3 pm in memorial of Jerry’s life, with an intimate viewing held the night before, Friday, February 14^th, from 5-7 pm. Both viewing and service will be held at North Brevard Funeral Home located on 1450 Norwood Avenue, Titusville, FL., 32796. Jerry will be laid to rest at the Oak Lawn Cemetery located at 2116 Garden Street, Titusville, Brevard County, Florida, 32796, USA.
