Obituary

Faye W. Browning, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 at the age of 87.

Faye was born in Richmond, Virginia on November 11, 1932.  She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1950 and attended Westhampton College and Richmond Business College in Richmond, VA, working toward her Business and secretarial degrees.  Later in life she attended Brevard Community College in Titusville and Cocoa, FL, working toward a journalism degree and improving various computer and business management skills.

Throughout her long life in Titusville she wore many hats with joy and enthusiasm. She worked in the public school system as a Title 1 teacher, a substitute teacher, an office administrator and in the guidance counselor office. Later at Park Avenue Christian Academy (PACA) she worked as an administrative assistant, a tutor and as a kindergarten reader and helper in her daughter Stephanie’s classroom.  She was the ultimate volunteer in Indian Maidens, Magnolia Garden Club, Junior Women’s Club, PTA, Parent Advisory Boards, Titusvillagers Homemakers Club, Beta Sigma Phi, THS Band Parents Association, Faculty Sponsor for THS Anchor Club, PACA Garden Club, Canaveral Area Heart Association, Pink Lady at Jess Parrish Memorial Hospital, Grey Lady in the public school system, Pilot Club and Founding member of the Lord’s Garden.  She was also a member of several bridge clubs over the years and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Faye loved the Lord.  After attending First Presbyterian and First Baptist of Titusville, she was one of the founding members of Park Avenue Baptist Church.  She sang in the choir and was a constant volunteer and participant in many of the ministries of Park Avenue.  For a number of years she assisted her late husband, Charles Robert Browning, with their photography business photographing many weddings and family gatherings, PACA school, kindergarten graduations, Upward basketball teams and Gretta’s School of Dance.

Her favorite past-times included singing, bridge and being a social butterfly.  Above all was her unconditional and whole-hearted love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a very proud and involved Granny attending as many events as possible.  She was very proud of all of her children, their spouses, and loved all the family pets.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Browning, her son John Murphy Wardman, Jr. (infant) and survived by her 6 children, Stephanie (Calvin), Vance (Gabby), Julee (Bryant), Tracie (Ken), Johna (Tim) and Birch (Stephanie), her 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as hundreds of friends who will never forget her loving and giving heart.
