I am so sad to hear the news of Gene's passing.

Working with Gene, Gary Powers, and Roselle Hanson during early ISS integration on the SSPF mezz are some of my fondest memories! Ses loved the Space Program. He loved his family even more. I was so touched at his retirement when he said he was keeping a promise he made to Pat. She supported his career and he would retire early enough to enjoy special times with her and the family. He obviously loved Pat dearly!

Ses might have seemed harsh at times, but it was his passion and belief in doing what was right. I knew the kinder, gentler Ses and feel honored to have gotten to know him as a friend. My heart grieves with you all at our loss. He was a wonderful person! God rest his soul and be with Pat and the family. Our prayers are with you!

Ses was one of the best men I ever met. I learned many things from him early in my career and feel fortunate to have had him as a mentor and a friend. His passion to do the right thing set a great example for anyone who knew him. He will be sorely missed.

Gene was a wonderful co-worker that dedicated his professional life to America's Space Program. He cared about our launch preparations processes and the detailed schedules. One of the processes that he will always be remembered for is the famous"Bulldog" edition. He had a great sense of humor and we all loved him very much for what he was doing for us and our nation. His legacy will continue and we were fortunate to have worked with him. My heart felt condolences to Pat and the whole Sestile family.

Our prayers to the family as Gene passes the torch to the next generation to follow his rich legacy of love, leadership, compassion and humor. There was no question that his love of his wife and family were first on the list - he shared so many stories, but was always generous about listening to yours, too. You can count on a smile when you recollect Gene's stories, share time with his family and recall those shared memories of real teamwork getting America into space and beyond. Thanks for it all Gene, Vicki & Wayne

Gene was a friend and colleague who had the respect of all who knew and worked with him. He and I enjoyed a game of "how many much do you weigh today" each time he came in my office while he was on a weight control program, which provided another source of laughter. He so enjoyed a good laugh and was always a friendly, jovial, great person to call friend. He will be missed, but I feel sure he is in Heaven!

To the Sestile family and friends: I knew Gene Sestile for almost all of his NASA career - a long time friend and NASA colleague - and through the Titusville Computer Club where Gene supported those early days when we were all learning about the new gadget called a computer. He was our neighbor and someone Carol and I enjoyed seeing with his wife and their faithful dog Reggie on the Max Brewer bridge on Saturday mornings. Gene was one of those people easy to know and like, and we will miss him greatly. We send our condolences to the family and our prayers of sympathy. Godspeed Gene, and may you rest in heavenly peace.
