David H. Bethel, Jr, 87 of Titusville, Florida passed into Glory on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Dave was born in Warwick, Rhode Island on November 12, 1931. He is preceded in death by his parents, David, Sr. and Esther; brother, Everett; and two children, “Baby Boy” Bethel and Debra. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn (Avery); Daughters Gail White of Melbourne, FL, Rachel [Rich] Zinzer of Elgin, Oregon, and Roanna [Steve] Wilson of Little Rock, Arkansas; a son, John David Bethel of Titusville, FL; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Dave was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War and also served in the Rhode Island National Guard. He faithfully served the Lord through the various ministries of Temple Baptist Church of Titusville, affectionately known as “The Pop Corn Man.” Dave retired from 40 years of distinguished employment from Pan American/Johnson Controls in 1996. One of his proudest personal accomplishments is riding his bike for what he called his John 3:16 year – 4,316 miles. His most memorable quote, “Look up! The Lord’s coming!"
