Daniel Lee Meyers, 89, passed away with dignity and respect on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Hospice of St. Francis, Titusville, FL.
Pop as we all called this wonderful man, was preceded in death by the love of his life, Janet Ellis Meyers in 2012. They were faithfully married for 63 years.
Pop is loved deeply and will be missed by his daughter, Janie Snyder, son Randy (Sandi) Meyers all of Titusville, FL. Grandchildren Kimberlee (Hoyt) Gamble, Winchester, KY, Amy (Billy) Grimes, Orlando, FL, Dan (Jen) Meyers of St. Simon's Island, GA, and Mark E. (Sara) Meyers of Cocoa, FL.
Great-Grandchildren Logan and John Gamble, Caitlyn and Carlee Grimes, Walker and Kaden Meyers, Lilly and Kason Meyers.
Born on October 12, 1929 in Springhill, WV to the late Home and Virginia Meyers, he graduated from South Charleston High School, WV in 1949. He was a cabinet builder by trade after graduating high school and then worked for Union Carbide for several years. Moving to Florida in 1958 to find warmer weather for his family, Pop found a job with Air Products in West Palm Beach, FL at the time a Top Secret facility developing rocket fuel.
In 1966 Pop moved his family to Titusville, FL where he was proud to work at the Kennedy Space Center until retiring in 1994.
Pop was an active member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Titusville where he was a leader and a true man of God for 52 years.
He volunteered at Parrish Medical Center Auxiliary for over 10 years with more than 3500 hours taking care of "his" golf carts.
Pop was active with Antique Automobile Club of America for many years where he was a Certified National Master Judge for 20 years judging cars at many meets and events including Hershey, PA.
He was also a long-time member of Canaveral Area Antique Car Club enjoying friendships with people who loved old cars as much as he did.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 11th, 2019 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with burial following at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
