Charles Franklin Broome, 84, passed away on October 1, 2018 at his home in Titusville, FL surrounded by family. He was survived by his wife, Aloha, daughter Laura (Mike) Drye, and his sons Charles (Karen) Broome, Christopher (Kelley) Broome, Richard (Megan) Broome, and Michael (Tracy) Broome. He was a loving granddaddy to 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was born to Edward and Ruby Broome in Columbia, SC on Nov. 8, 1933.
Charlie and Aloha married in June 1956, then moved to Jacksonville, FL where he served in the U.S. Navy. After his service to our country, he graduated from Stetson Law School in 1962 and moved to Titusville where he worked as an attorney for 42 years. He saw his law practice as a ministry to the community. Charlie was a charter member of Park Avenue Baptist Church and served there as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He loved the Lord and lived his life to serve Him.
Charlie was a loving and supportive father. He encouraged his children in all that they did. One of his favorite titles was “Granddaddy”. He loved his grandchildren and the joy they brought to his life. They often found him in his yard where he was growing flowers for the love of his life, Aloha. We will miss the prayers, the words of wisdom, and the time he would share with us. A celebration of life service will be held at Park Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a visitation at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice of St. Francis. Condolences can be expressed to the family at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com
