Obituary

Ronald "Bud" Carroll, age 74, a resident of Titusville Florida departed this life Thursday, November 24, 2022 peacefully at home. Bud was born November 23, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Billy and Betty Carroll. He graduated from Westwood High School in Memphis and attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville TN for one year until he was drafted into the Army.

While serving in the Army, Bud was a Army Casper Unit Helicopter pilot in Vietnam from 1969-1971. After returning home, Bud became an Air Traffic Controller for 10 years until he was fired by President Ronald Reagan in August 1981. Bud joined Murdock Nissan Dealership as a Finance Manager. Later, Fred Murdock and Bud opened Tennessee Equity Mortgage Company in 1986  which later became Gulf Pacific Mortgage. After selling the company, Bud did some mortgage consulting until he retired.

Bud's first hobby as a child was fishing and then found the wonderful game called Golf at the age of 40. Bud also enjoyed boating, motorcycle riding and RVing.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Schelley, of 35 years as well as his brother, Glenn and wife Jan; his two granddaughters, Bella Harr and Teri DuBowik; and two great grandchildren, Lyla and Max; and numerous family members in Memphis and the St. Louis area. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Sean.

Bud fought the good fight of a Double Lung Transplant and was given 13 1/2 wonderful years. In his honor, please consider becoming a organ donor.

Memorial Services for Bud (Ronald) Carroll we be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at North Brevard Funeral Home at 1450 Norwood Avenue, Titusville FL  32796. It will be live streamed on their website.

There will also be a Military Burial Service in Memphis Tennessee at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Road, Memphis TN  38125. The time and date is to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled America Veterans (DAV), Mid-America Transplant or Brevard Country Hospice (Vitas Services).
