Brenda Honaker

Brenda Arlene Honaker, 78, went to her heavenly home on July 24, 2021. She was born to the late John Dallas Peterson and Doris Krusmark on September 5, 1942 in Newport News, Virginia. Brenda was a humble Christian woman, smart and the kindest person you will ever meet. She loved everyone unconditionally and went out of her way to be kind to strangers. She was High School Valedictorian in her graduating high school class and graduated college with honors. Brenda was voted prettiest girl at Brevard Community College in 1961. She went on to work and retire from Kennedy Space Center as a Rocket Booster Technician and was awarded Employee of the Year. She was dedicated to her work, husband and raising her three children. She loved to spend time on the weekends attending the race track to watch her husband, Red and son, Skip, race. Brenda loved cruising with her daughter, Brenda Lee, attending the movie theater with her daughter, Sandra and traveling with her husband, son, Skip and wife Jennifer. She was all about her family and loved nothing more than being with them especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She loved any kind of animal, especially Yorkies. She enjoyed singing with the R & B Gospel Band, “Raising the Joy.” She is a die-hard Washington Red Skins Football Fan and enjoyed Auto Racing. Brenda is survived by her loving husband, “Red”, Arnold Honaker Sr; Daughter, Brenda Lee Bray, Daughter, Sandra Honaker Lewis; Son, “Skip” Arnold Honaker Jr (Wife, Jennifer); Grandson, “J.L” Joel Lee Bray (Wife, Mary); Grandson, Jacob Glen Lewis (Wife, Brittany); Great granddaughter, Dakota Morgan Bray; Great grandson, Malachi James Bray; Great grandson, Elijah Joel Bray; Great granddaughter, Raelynn Grace Bray; Step Great granddaughter, Caylin Abigail Monroy (Husband, Carlos); Step Great grandson, Aiden Michael Rose; Brother, John D. Peterson Jr. (Wife, Becky), loving dog, Crickett. There will be a Memorial Service in her honor at North Brevard Funeral Home on Thursday, July 29 at 9:45 am conducted by the honorable Reverend Shelby Davis. There will be a committal service following at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 11 am by Pastor JC Weeks.
