Obituary

Bonnie Jean Griffin, age 84, left this earth for her heavenly home on August 1, 2020. For the last few months she had resided at Addington Place Assisted Living. Titusville, Florida.

Bonnie was born in Elkins, West Virginia, the daughter of Joe M. and Dorothy Virginia Kimball.

She grew up in Porterwood, West Virginia, with one sibling JoEtta, and at age 18 married her childhood sweetheart, George W. (Bud) Griffin. Because of Bud’s work, they lived in several states until 1964 when his job with Rockwell brought them to the Titusville area.

Bonnie was a longtime employee of the Brevard County School Board. When Bud became disabled, she lovingly cared for him for over 20 years.

She was a faithful member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, serving in the Retreat and Widows ministries. In her younger years, her hobbies were bowling, gardening and china painting.  More recently she enjoyed the Wednesday Morning Bible study, her animals and Hallmark movies (even if she had seen them over and over again) She had a dry sense of humor and was known as the loving lady who called everybody honey or sweetie.

Bonnie was predeceased by her husband George W. (Bud) Griffin and her sister, JoEtta Barnett. Survivors are brother in law: Paul Barnett; two nieces: Robin Barnett Long and Susan Demjen Tonnies ; one nephew: Paul Boyd Barnett;  great nieces and nephews: Nicholas Barnett, Brennen Long Fetner, Gene Long, Sydney Long, Sheryl Plocher and Stephanie Tonnies;  and great-great nieces and nephews: Easton Fetner, Ellington Fetner, Micah Fetner, Mila Fetner, Brooklyn Long, Victoria Long, Ava Plocher, Lena Williams and Owen Williams.

Graveside services will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Cemetery on Monday, August 17th at  11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Brevard Humane Society, 1020 Cox Road, Cocoa, Fl. 32926.
