Obituary

Bobby Ray McBryde, Sr.

On Saturday, July 20, 2019, Bobby R. McBryde Sr, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 78.

Bobby was born on March 12, 1941 in Reidsville NC, to Frank and Alice (Parrish) McBride.  In 1958 he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he spent over 20 years providing distinguished service to his Country.  On February 19th, 1960, he married the love of his life, Shirley (Hattaway) McBryde, and together they raised a family of four children, sons Bobby Ray Jr, Jerry, Don and daughter Pamela.  While raising his family, he traveled the world during his career service as a USAF Inventory Management Supervisor.  In addition to his military career, he was a retiree of Senco of Florida.

Bobby was a big fan of classic country and gospel music, baseball, and Shirley’s home cooking.  During his USAF service years, he often played on several baseball teams and leagues at once, where he was revered for his amazing underhand fast-pitch “knuckleball”.  When Bobby retired and settled into his Titusville home, he developed his passion for shrimping by night and searching for estate sale treasures by day.  He will be forever loved and remembered for his quick wit, his bright and happy smile, and for his genuinely kind and compassionate spirit.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Frankie, his sister Carolyn, and his daughter Pamela.  He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his sons Bobby Ray Jr, Jerry, Don, his brothers Ronny and Jimmy, several nieces and nephews, 9 grandkids and 13 great-grandkids who honor him and love him dearly.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 28th, 2019, 1:30pm at the Indian River City United Methodist Church located at 1355 Cheney Hwy in Titusville FL.  A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
