Bobby Eugene McCain, Sr., 83, died Monday July 9, 2018 at his home in Mims. Bobby was born in Rome, Georgia to Naomi and Fred McCain and came to Brevard in 1968 from LaGrange, Georgia. During his teenage years, he worked in the movie theater business before starting his professional career with Lockheed Aircraft. He then entered the newspaper business as a reporter for the LaGrange Daily News. In Florida, Bobby purchased the Searstown Cinema in 1975 and started his company Mack Theaters, Inc. where he owned several theaters along the East Coast before retiring in 2002. Bobby loved to read, golf, cruising and was a cigar enthusiast.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 66 years Patricia McCain; his sons Tony McCain (Sharon) of Knoxville, TN, Bobby McCain, Jr. of Mims, FL, Brad McCain (Riva) of Titusville, FL and Greg McCain (Fay) of Richmond, VA; nine grandchildren (Abigail, Clair, Caylen, Carlie, Jason, Jared, Alexis, Rachel, and Colin) and three great-grandchildren; his siblings Shirley Looney (Sam), Nancy Rodgers (Fred), Mona Pledger (Bill), and Phil McCain; he was predeceased by his sister Cherry McCain.
Bobby’s life will be celebrated at 4:00 pm on Saturday July 14, 2018 at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville with visitation beginning at 3:00pm.
