Betty Romaine Campbell, age 96, of Titusville, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on January 6th, 2021, at 8:48 PM, of natural causes associated with aging. Betty was born in Chambersburg Pennsylvania on May 9th 1924, the youngest daughter of Jacob and Dessie Kegris and the last surviving member of eight siblings; four girls and four boys. She graduated from John Harris High School in Harrisburg Pennsylvania in 1942, but spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Hagerstown Maryland, where she met Harry Paul Campbell Jr., her childhood sweetheart. They were married in 1942, just before Harry was stationed with the Army Air Corps in Duxford England during WW II. They were married for 52 years. During WWII Betty was a switchboard phone operator supervisor and later retired from the Brevard County School System; she was the bookkeeper for Parkway and Jackson Middle School in Titusville from 1965 to 1972. Betty has been a resident of Titusville, off and on, since 1956 and a member of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church. Betty Campbell is survived by her two children, Richard Campbell of Titusville Florida, and Ann Sciamanico of Boca Raton Florida; two grandchildren, Robert and Jason Campbell; and two great grandchildren, Evan and Oliver Campbell. She loved children and was a loving and good mother and wife. She would tell people, “I’ve lived a blessed life,” which she attributed to her Christian upbringing, her faith in God, and living her life according to the Word of God. She has had many friends throughout her life, most of whom she has outlived. She will be remembered and missed by many.
