Bessie M. Prevatt, 101, of Palatka passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday night. Mrs. Prevatt was born April 11, 1920, in Jacksonville to the late George and Cora Todd. She married her late husband Francis Prevatt at the age of 19 and they moved to Palatka and opened an upholstery shop. She has been a resident of Palatka for more than 70 years. Her husband died in 1994. Mrs. Prevatt was the second to the oldest of seven children, three boys and four girls, and the last surviving sibling. Her mother lived more than 100 years. Mrs. Prevatt is a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka and she loved God, family and friends. Her favorite food is a Whopper and fries. She has two children, Jimmie
Prevatt (Nancie) and Montine Earls (Bryan), six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grandson Preston Prevatt.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am with the service starting at 11 am Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka. She will be buried next to her husband in Westview Cemetery.
