Robert K Ross

Robert Kenneth Ross, 78, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Hospice of St. Francis Care Center in Titusville, Florida.  He was the loving husband of Mildred Mansard Ross, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage on May 29, 2017.  He was born on August 31, 1938 in Youngstown, OH to the late Andrew Ross and Mabel Tacker. He served his country for 6 years in the US Navy during peacetime. During his duty in RI he served on President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s military transportation staff. In Norfolk, VA he served aboard the USS Sierra AD18 as a storekeeper, and then was in the US Navy Reserves.  His professional life included over 50 years as a Tax Accountant, starting his unique in-home tax preparation service in Terre Haute, IN, then moving it to Titusville in 1972.  He retired from tax preparation in 2013.  He was a Certified Tax Professional and achieved the status of Enrolled Agent.  Robert earned a BS in Business Education from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN and a Master’s degree in Business Education from FTU/UCF in Orlando, FL.  He began his teaching career at Jackson Jr. High in 1972, then Space Coast Middle, Astronaut High and Mims Elementary.  He also taught real estate courses at Brevard Community College.  He was a Realtor and on 2 occasions was named Realtor of the Year for the North Brevard Realtor Association.  He was also the NBRA President for 3 years. Robert was Broker/Owner of Harmony Real Estate, a Realty World franchise, and  owned offices in Titusville, Maitland and Winter Park.  One of his favorite hobbies was being a barbershop singer, and was a proud 51 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society.  Over those 51 years he sang in numerous quartets, in state and International competition. For 10 years he was a Dapper Dan of Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom. He performed at Rosie O’Grady’s in Orlando and also performed throughout Florida and at conventions around the United States.  In 1988 he was named Barbershopper of the Year in the Sunshine District of the BHS.  He was proud to sing barbershop with his two sons, Roger and Rusty, and was always supported by his wife Mildred and his family during all his musical activities.  He was an Honorary Veteran of the Day at the Magic Kingdom and he and his wife Mildred were Honorary Grand Marshals in the Magic Kingdom Parade.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mildred Mansard Ross, his sons Robert Ross, Jr. of Titusville, Roger Ross of Oviedo, Rusty Ross of Orlando and daughter Lisa Ross Eyrolles of Wake Forest, NC.  Six grandchildren Aaron Ross, Michelle Ross, Laura Ross, Jeremy Ross, Kristen Eyrolles Olson and Kraig Eyrolles. Three great grandchildren Adam and Aria Eyrolles and Cameron Sharp. Robert Ross was a 45 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Titusville. He worked diligently this year, 2017, to create a safety and security team for his church.  There will be a Celebration of Life for Robert Kenneth Ross on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11am, First United Methodist Church of Titusville, 206 S.
