Lori Kay.....Oh my gosh. You are an angel in heaven now. I was a childhood friend of yours. We dressed alike. We stayed at Big Mamas and Big Daddy's and walked down Palm Avenue in Big Mama's clothes. You always made me laugh. We cried together. You are on of my favorite childhood memories. I am so sad. Although I haven't talked to you in years, I always wondered about you. We grew up and both moved away. Lori, I spoke with you about three years ago. I found you and called you randomly. I NEVER imagined it would be the last time. You were such a fun loving sweet girl. Now, you are in heaven. WOW. I am sorry Lori that I didn't reach out sooner and more often. I remember you singing "Red roses for a blue lady" all the time. Our favorite crusin song was Benny and the Jets by Elton john. Don't ask me why but tonight something told me to search for you on facebook. I couldn't find you on facebook so I googled your name and your obituary came up. My dear sweet best friend I am so heart broken. God took you too soon. I remember from our conversation how you shared your love for your two kids and grandkids with me. I could hear the pride in your voice. I love you Lori Kay and thank you for the memories. I always loved it when you came to Palatka to visit Big Mama and Big Daddy. I loved your Mom and Dad and I know they miss you dearly. To Lori's children: You had a beautiful mother. She was such a great person. But you know that. Everyone did that knew her. To know Lori was to love her. God Bless you all. I am so sad and so sorry for your loss. To Lori's parents: Thank you for Lori. She was a blast to be around. I hope you remember me.

P.S. Lori ~ Please give my Daddy a hug up there in heaven. Tell him I love him.

I love you girl!

Your childhood friend,

Debbie Hill Downey

Jeannine and Dickie, my heart is aching for you both. Lori Kay was the prettiest baby I have ever seen and the most precious little girl. I did not know her as a woman, but I am sure she was wonderful. I can remember when we would put her and Lisa in the same crib, she was so perfect and Lisa was so long and lean. God bless you and keep you in his love, and I love you too.
