Joseph Albert Lessey Jr., 78, of Titusville, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by his adoring family June 12, 2017. He was the fourth child of the late Joseph and Mary Lessey of Miami, FL and was born in Glassboro, New Jersey. He was married to his beloved wife and best friend Jo Ella for 63 years. He had a widespread career with Boeing, PRC and retired from USBI at the Kennedy Space Center spanning from the Minutemen program to the Shuttle program. He was given two Astronaut Personal Achievement Awards, also known as The Silver Snoopy, his name entered into The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. and was very proud to have worked on the Lunar Rover Vehicle for the Moon, possessing one of the few driver’s licenses for it. He treasured his family and his favorite past-time was fun gatherings at his respective home. Joe loved traveling to Europe especially Italy and Greece, crossing country with his wife and dog in their RV but mostly, he liked putting a smile on everyone’s face he came into contact with and had the biggest heart. Character and loyalty were his best features. Joe is proceeded in death by his daughter Pamela (Rosser) and his son Nicholas. He is survived by his wife Jo Ella, children Joe (and Chena), Valerie (and Bob Mckinney), grandchildren Robert Hudspeth, Nicole Lessey and Michael St. Germain, six great grandchildren, his sister Joan as well as a plethora amount of loving extended family. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
