Gordon Eugene Brown, 83, born in Bremerton, WA, died peacefully at Parrish Medical Center, Titusville, FL, Monday, June 5, 2017, just before midnight. He lived most of his childhood years in the northwest with his parents, Theron and Katherine, and his brother John (Jack). During the early 50s, he attended Washington State University and remained an avid WSU fan throughout his life. Living in Point Loma (San Diego), and riding in a bi-plane at age 11 inspired him to become an Air Force Veteran, where he attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. His professional career as a mechanical engineer led him to live in many states, including LA, WA, OR, and finally FL. Gordon worked at Kennedy Space Center as a mechanical engineer specializing in hydraulics systems for the space shuttle program from 1975 until his retirement in 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his beloved wife of 34 years, Hilda B. Brown (’99). A family man of great integrity and upstanding moral character, he is survived by his children: Robert (Stephanie) Brown, Land O’Lakes, FL; Patrick (Anna) Brown, Melbourne, FL; John (Jennifer) Brown, Oviedo, FL; Marisa (Dennis) Hurd, Olathe, KS. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Emily, Theron, Connor, and Collin Brown, Jeff and Jason Brown, Sarah (Ian) Hartsig, Erin, and Kathryn Hurd, and just missed meeting his first great grandchild due in December! Admired and loved for his unwavering support, his quiet, consistent manner and unassuming ways, his absence leaves a void and his presence will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
