Richard C. Doss, born September 4, 1947 passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 5th.
Born in Dayton, TN, to Rufus and Inez Doss, Richard moved at an early age to FL with his mother Inez and stepfather Chick.
Richard joined the Army out of High School in 1968 and toured Vietnam. After his service, Richard joined The City of Titusville Vehicle Maintenance Dept. where he advanced to Superintendent of Fleet Management. Retired after 29 years, he then went to work for USA at KSC, working there until he retired in 2010.
Survived by his wife Carol Doss, children Rob Doss (Tami), Jeff Marr, Michelle (Mike) Bishop, three grandchildren Kristen (Anthony) Vansky, Casey Bishop, Taylor Marr, two great grandchildren Ciara and Hayden Vansky.
Also in his heart was Charles Taylor, father-in-law and Jan Giraro, sister-in-law, all from Titusville.
Richard was predeceased by his father Rufus Doss, stepfather Ancil (Chick) Williams.
Richard enjoyed many hobbies and was always busy. He was a member of the Moonport Modelers and The NRA. Loving mornings, Richard walked the Max Brewer bridge most everyday and enjoyed the FL sunrises.
Richard will be missed by many and forever loved by his family.
A gathering of the family and friends will be held Tuesday, January 14th from 5-7 pm with a military service at 6pm, at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville.
